Why be Catholic?
Becoming a member of the Catholic Church is a significant life decision. While everybody's spiritual path is slightly different, there are a few things we recommend everybody who is considering the Catholic Faith:
-
Prayer- Start to develop a prayer life. There is no "bad prayer." You can make it as simple as you would like, just start talking to God. Listen to where He is pointing you. There are numerous resources online to help you get started.
-
Attend Mass or Adoration- While only Catholics are permitted to receive Our Lord in the Eucharist, any and everybody is welcome to attend Mass or spend time with Christ in adoration. Check the home page to find out when we offer Mass and Adoration.
-
Research- There is a wealth of knowledge to explore within the Catholic Faith, and it can feel overwhelming at first. We suggest starting with the article below to familiarize yourself with some of the basics. Additionally, if you are looking for a book to pick up, we have listed a few of our recommendations.

Rome Sweet Home, Scott Hahn (conversion story)
The Case for Catholicism, Trent Horn (apologetics)
Catholic Christianity, Peter Kreeft (adult catechesis)
The Confessions, Saint Augustine (spiritual classic)

One of the many beauties of the Catholic Faith is that, with so much to offer, you have the opportunity to discover and choose the devotions and practices that best support your spiritual needs. Please reach out to our director of religious education, Ms. Debbie Ciafre, if you have any questions.
